Services I Offer

I've been sewing for most of my life.  As a matter of fact, I can't really remember a time when I wasn't sewing,  either by hand or with a sewing machine.  Starting from the age of 15, and thanks to a wealthy aunt who would give me her old clothes for me to take apart (then wash and press the pieces), I made my own clothes.  My children were allergic to polyester so twice a year I would sew each a new wardrobe to match season and new sizes.  Cotton fabric was easy to find back then, cotton children's clothes were not.

When we got our first house, it pained me to even think about spending $500/window for drapes, so my husband's sister-in-law convinced me to make lined wool pinch-pleated drapes myself.  Easier than I thought but that was the last time.  Curtains are fast easy and much cheaper than buying them so have never bought any to this day.

The next logical step was quilts.  I LOVE quilts, making them, giving them away, having one to grab on any chair or couch in my living room.  When a wall  is looking bare and needs some warming up, a quilt takes care of it with the additional benefit that a quilt can  re-purposed to a bed or chair, something not possible with most other artwork.  It was the quilt making that led me to the next step of teaching people how to sew, which leads me to the services and classes I offer.
